AT - IZ
Interkulturelles Zentrum (IZ) is an independent non-profit association directed by an honorary Managing Committee of experts, a full-time management (currently 27 persons) and worldwide network of social scientists, pedagogues and activists.
IZ promotes the development of relations between people of different cultural origin and trains people to carry out practical intercultural work, in particular cross-border co-operation between schools, international youth work, as well as intercultural education and diversity management in Austria.
Within 22 years IZ has carried out numerous trainings in the field of youth exchange, school linking (teachers, train the trainers), project management, capacity building, intercultural dialog, intercultural education/competence, non-formal education - related to the programme issues of “Youth in Action” (IZ is the national Agency for Youth in Action).
In general the target groups of IZ trainings are pedagogues, youth workers, employees interested in intercultural issues, multipliers, experts.
IZ co-operates with international institutions (Council of Europe, the European Commission, UNESCO), various Austrian ministries (Education, Foreign Affairs, Health, Family and Youth), our partners also include regional governments, local communities, universities, schools, youth organisations, associations and institutions of adult education. IZ was awarded the World Aware Award for Global Education 2000 and the World Aware Education Award 2005 by the Council of Europe.
